Your skin is affected by your hormones and emotions which are tricky to control! Try to minimise stress where you can. Increase your water intake to at least two 750ml bottles of water per day. If you smoke, your skin (and not to mention health) will benefit from stopping. Diet wise eat more antioxidant-rich foods (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, red delicious, granny smith and gala apples, prunes, plums, cherries, pecans and russet potato) and reduce dairy (especially cheese), saturated fats and red meat. Ensure you are having enough vitamin C, magnesium and zinc and reduce coffee and alcohol consumption.
For Active Acne: You may wish to consider seeing a naturopath as this can be triggered by spicy food, preservatives, fried foods, milk and yeast. Change your pillowcase and face cloth daily.
